I took this pic and then moved away from the path to a platform (which used to be the old railway platform) where hawthorn, dog roses, etc. now grow to try to get some more pics of the birds. As I stood there, a man and his wife walked by pointing a walking stick at the birds in the bushes. The next thing I knew was that they too had moved up onto the platform and then decided to ask in a loud voice whether I had got any good pics. I felt totally frustrated as I'd moved away from the path to get away from walkers, cyclists, etc. I thought to myself, I'll never get any good pics while people like you are waving sticks at the birds and talking in a loud voice! Am I getting miserable? It's just impossible to take bird pics unless you creep about quietly and dress in appropriate clothing so that you don't stand out.
A lovely capture despite the loud man with the stick!! It happens to me all the time especially if I am in the bird hide at the local country park with my long lens on the camera. Without fail a man will say in a loud voice "Ohh that's a big lens - have you got any good shots!!" All so familiar Rosie!!
Haha....think all we bird photographer types have heard that question!
I really like how you have captured this bird Rosie...the rose hips in the background really set him off nicely.
