I took a photograph of an old pic that Mum always had sitting on her shelf in her lounge. It was probably taken about 62 years ago as I don't look to be very old in the shot. My brother Trevor is 6 years older than me and has lived in France between Dijon and Lyons for the past 8 or 9 years. I really must fly out to see him as I haven't been to his house yet! Although he was a lot older than me, we have always been very close. There is only 14 months between him and my sister but I was born when she was in a sanatorium having contracted TB so we never really knew each other from being very young. It must have been a shock for her when she came out after 6 years to find that she had a little sister!
After Mum died, there was a bit of friction between myself and Trevor as I was the only one that was here when she was dying and I think it was a mixture of grief and guilt that caused the problems plus the fact that I had sat by her bed for a week while she was dying and I was in an awful state as it was not a very peaceful death. I think it is important to move on from that so we are now speaking regularly to each other now that I've got Skype set up again. I don't like bad feeling between people and so I'm glad that we are now best friends again
