Tree felling by rosiekind

Tree felling

Our neighbours opposite have had 3 beech trees removed from their garden. The tree fellers started yesterday and managed to get the final tree down today. They had grown amazingly tall and every time we've had a lot of wind, I've wondered how they have managed to stay upright! The chaps doing the job were amazing. The chap up the tree was hanging around in all sorts of positions chain sawing away and the trunks were huge as you can see on the back of the lorry. It has caused quite a stir as they have had to stop the traffic when each trunk came down as they had to fall across the road otherwise they would have landed on the house. It took about 4 chaps to sort it all out and clear up the mess - no wonder it costs so much to have trees felled. It's a shame our neighbours next door don't get their trees trimmed as they tower above our house and I keep wondering when they are going to come crashing down if we have strong wind, so much so that I've moved into the other bedroom which is at least a bit further away!
Super collection of shots.

Great collage. Did they let you have any wood for the fire? Sometimes they sell it on. One of our neighbourhood trees is going next month.
