The squirrels were chasing about on the lawn when I got back from my walk and this one looked so innocent despite the fact that he had been digging up the lawn to bury his nuts. I think that they are worried that the weather will turn told so they are burying nuts in preparation. I watched one of the black fellows going back and forth to the feeder, grab a nut and then bury it in my vegetable patch. It was so funny! He must have gone back and forth about 20 times and he buried them right next to a stick that I have with a couple of beer cans hanging from it to stop the pigeons eating my vegetables. At least he knows where he has buried them.
I never get tired of watching the squirrels.....so quick in their movements!there were red squirrels where we were yesterday...I believe they are increasing in numbers.
