On the way to a meeting this morning, I was a few minutes early so I took the opportunity of stopping to take a few pics of the lovely tulips along the Embankment in Bedford. I would say that the Embankment is the jewel in Bedford's crown! If you forget all the rest about the centre of Bedford, you could recommend people to visit the town. Unfortunately, unlike Cambridge, Bedford has very little else to offer other than the river and the beautiful flowers and of course some of the parks.
Lovely colourful capture....... I have rather a soft spot for Bedford having spent many happy hours there in my teens & as my daughter now lives there (not far from the river), but (as I worked there for 5 years until recently) I do agree on the surface its not the most pleasant place to visit..... although there is loads of history, good public schools, some great places to eat, a good market, free parking, a fab range of ethnic shops & a great annual Riverside Festival...... just needs the people to believe in the place & a well lead local council to get it into shape !!
