It's a good year for greenfinches

And I'm so pleased that they are recovering in numbers following a disastrous disease that threatened their species! I often have 4 or 5 of them on my feeder at a time and I'm so pleased to see them. I think they are pretty little birds with their yellow wing feathers
We have lots of the greenfinches on our feeder too - when the niger seed is there.

So cute and blends in with the mould on the roof!

Not seen any this year. But we now have a few sparrows and starlings. Regretfully the jackdaws seem to do well and drive off the smaller birds. Nature.

Super how they match the roof.

@padlock We hardly ever see a sparrow in the garden because I think they live down the other end of our road where I do seem some and starlings we have plenty. I have seen a jackdaw in the garden a couple of times which is not really what I want to see as I don't want them picking off all the little birds that have fledged.

Another great capture of this pretty little bird Rosie, not one I've managed to find around here:)

Great capture Rosie!! I haven't seen any greenfinches for ages. They used to come regularly to my garden but now it's the goldfinches who come every day - all day long!! Plus my new visitors the bullfinch and his mate who are gorgeous!! Of course I still have my robin and some big fat wood pigeons. Mind you if I put meal worms out the starlings arrive in a gang. It's as if a signal goes out to them!! LOL!! Fav!!

@pamknowler The starlings usually post a look out so that they know where the food is so yes a signal does go out! Thanks for the Fav bts
