This poor blackbird was sitting in the birdbath outside the kitchen window and seemed too tired to even have a proper bath. He stood there with his beak open and I think he was panting. Poor boy
Wonderful shot, looks like its dropping its feathers, as they do when they finish breeding????, our Blackbird ( Billy ) who was with us for six years used to get rid of his after his last young flew, sometimes he would still have young in the nest and he look terrible. its just part of nature and he will soon be TIP TOP again. Sadly Billy went missing this year, we think a Cat must have got him, he was very tame...
@tonygig He was really tame. I had a robin that ate from my hand this year but he’s gone too. I am hoping it’s just because his babies have flown the nest and that he will be back next year
