The harvest

My father was a farmer and I grew up on the farm. The harvest this year is just so early that I am amazed. Most of the fields around here have been harvested and I am sure the seasons are all early this year as it seems more like September than August.

Is this what is called threshing? My mother grew up on a farm but I grew up in subdivisions.
