I saw this young robin in the garden and before I took this, it's parent was feeding it so I think they have fledged today. The weather is awful so poor little bird must be having a horrible first experience of being out of the nest. We have had heavy rain.
I discovered another nest in the garden this afternoon. The wrens have another nest at the front of the house and I saw one of the parents foraging in the bush and flying to the nest which is in a roosting pocket. Such lovely little birds. I had Bas with me when I looked out of the bedroom window and when I went back with my camera some time later, I couldn't see it so I haven't got any photos. The total number of nests in our garden is 2 wrens nests, 2 blackbirds nests, 1 robins nest and the blue tits have youngsters in the camera nest box. It is a very successful year for the birds and I am pleased to help them by providing nesting material, nest boxes and plenty of different foods.
