I can't remember what these flowers are called but they were growing by my friend's pond in her garden when we called to see her this morning. Fortunately, I had my point and shoot in my bag but I thought they looked nice and sunny
@snowy@grammyn@carolmw I've just googled Marsh Marigold and King Cups and discovered that they are one and the same flower which is what I remember from childhood when we used to collect and press wild flowers. i've probably got my wild flower book somewhere that must be over 50 years old but cannot remember which box it is packed away in as I've never unpacked here since our last move!
I have never heard of either flower you mentioned but that is probably because they are either not in this country or called something else. you are right about the size not showing in this shot.
You are right, marsh marigold or kingcups, one & the same.....& a gorgeous bright yellow too.
It's strange how many names one plant or bird etc. can have; luckily if one learns the scientific name the problem goes away!

I know a few birds, but no flowers..........memory, mine's a sieve!
