I think this is a Red Admiral and they always come into our garden. Funnily enough, they often settle on Steve and they used to settle on his mother when she was alive. I think Steve thinks that one of these is his mum and comes to see how he is getting on as one always settles on him every year and he can put his hand out for it to happen.
