Poor bunny

This poor rabbit has mixamatosis (not sure how it's spelt) but he is obviously blind. I've never been so close to a rabbit before so didn't realise quite how it affects their eyes although I knew that they went blind. Poor little fellow. I took this the other day and thought about posting it but wasn't sure whether to or not but after seeing David's dunnock with the dodgy beak, I thought I would.
Picture says it all I am afraid. No cure for this disease part from the obvious. It used to be associated with rabbits living in warrens but not so sure about this now days.

Oh poor thing. I guess he was easier to capture too as he wouldn't see you approaching.

How sad...are both eyes affected? and is it fatal?

@lynnb I couldn't see the other eye but suspect it was also affected. They usually die and often get killed on the road because they can't see what's coming. It's a terrible disease and sadly one which hasn't been eradicated. They cull badgers in my mind unnecessarily but do nothing to help rabbits who are suffering. Nobody seems interested in them poor things
