He was sitting quietly on this twig until I lifted up my camera and didn't stay long but just long enough to get this shot. I think it's a corn bunting because it does look as though it's got a stripey tummy but it could be a warbler. I'm sure someone on here will be able to confirm what it is
Could possible be a female Linnet. I have never seen a Corn Bunting before and is a bird I am hoping to see this year. Have you and more detail how did it fly away ? in my Collins bird guide states they fly short distance with legs dangling and as a song that sounds like janggling key. Also roughly the same size as a Skylark. Love picture though if is a Corn Bunting Iwill be a bit envious:)
