A bird in Steve's hand

This is Bas our big old cockatoo. He's either an umbrella or triton cockatoo - I'm not really sure which. I must admit I'm never worried about handling this fella! At the moment he's trying to lick my face with his funny tongue while I'm typing this! He is absolutely trustworthy and friendly - good with children and my grandson Dylan loves him! This is the bird who comes to bed every morning while we drink our coffee! He likes nothing better than snuggling down under the covers and we love him dearly. He may not be as majestic as the birds I saw yesterday but to be honest, I would have him any day as you can't cuddle the owls and eagles!
A lovely capture of Bas!!

Great shot, I'm not a lover of handling birds but remember well having to handle a cockatoo when the zoo people visited the children in the school I worked in ........felt quite fond of the beautiful creature after I got used to it nibbling my hair !!
