All aboard to Cambridge

The train used to run through Willington to Cambridge but that stopped when Dr Beeching put an end to lots of railway lines in 1968. However, they are now talking about building a new rail line from Oxford to Cambridge but it won't go through the original cutting as it is now a cycle track and I can't imagine trains being allowed through. It's funny how things turn out as we are going back to what we once had but it will cost a great deal more. However, the original track took goods to Cambridge rather than people.

Yes, agree with you! Our train tracks are now cycle tracks but people flock to do the rail journeys!

2026 for the link to Bedford and who knows for Cambridge bring it on though would be very good connection why not in five years time

Good news about a new rail line. I remember when they reopened the rail line at Arlesey when we lived at Henlow after it had been closed for about 30 years.
