Not a good shot but it's the only time I've ever managed to get a shot at an owl and only the second time I've seen one when I've not been driving my car. If only my shutter speed has been faster! My camera is playing up again and when I'm on holiday next week, it looks as though I shall be heading for John Lewis to see what they say. This is the second one I've had that's gone wrong under warranty. The last one went wrong after 7 months and 22,000 shots and this one I've had for 5 months and have taken 12,000 shots. The exposure meter doesn't work so it's all guesswork and it only seems to work on Manual settings which is what I usually use but I fancied trying out aperture priority when we did our macro work last week but it wasn't having any of it! It's just so frustrating because I love the camera when it's working as it should. I keep wondering whether I should go for a Canon but it would be a waste of 3 Nikon lenses.
They are certainly not very aerodynamic looking, are they? I think this is a great shot...so sorry about your camera, same as mine, so hoping they can get it sorted out. So frustrating, I'm sure.
I'm so sorry that your camera isn't behaving. But this is a really cool shot, despite the camera problems. I don't think I've ever seen an owl outside of a zoo or a raptor display at a renaissance festival. I do like the way that the barn owls look. :-)
I've heard barn owls in the woods at night but never seen one in person. I'd have been so excited, I would've dropped my camera and been off to the shop like you!
Well I still think its a great shot and find, you were lucky. I have only seen an owl outside of captivity once, and he was flying over my head while driving my car, so there was no photo op for me.
