Sverd i fjell (swords in rock)

This monument commemorates the Battle of Hafrsfjord from 872, when the victorious King Harald Fairhair united Norway under a single crown (although historians say the unification took centuries, and wasn't the result of a single battle). The bronze swords are the work of sculptor Fritz Røed. They are around 10m high and were unveiled in 1983.
Fantastic history, thank you. Interesting monument.
