This is a shot from the Aubrey Beardsley exhibition at Tate Britain. Beardsley died at the age of 25 from tuberculosis, but produced a distinctive body of work in the late Victorian period. His black and white illustrations drew on diverse influences such as Japanese woodcuts and the Pre-Raphaelites, and in turn influenced Art Nouveau.
This room was inspired by Beardsley's house in Cambridge Street, Pimlico which he shared with his sister and decorated in bright colours. His portrait - by Jacques-Émile Blanche - sits over Beardsley's drawing table.
