A bird's eye view

Green parakeets are an increasingly common sight in south east England. They are considered to be a pest, but I never tire of seeing them. I took this from my bedroom window this morning. The parakeet spent a few minutes on the tree across the road before something startled it. There have been numerous theories about why green parakeets have become part of Britain's bird population (some blaming Jimi Hendrix, or the filming of The African Queen!)but this BBC article explains why they are more prevalent: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-50755015
What an amazing sight

A green parakeet in England? I'm impressed that can live through the winters there! In Phoenix, where I live, our tropical 'invasive' bird is the rosey faced love bird. http://azfo.org/journal/Rosy-facedLovebird2011.html I often see them fly over my yard, but they never stop to visit. grrr. I want them to sit in my birdbath someday!

@blueberry1222 the rosy-faced lovebird looks so colourful - it would be very special to have these visit the bird feeder! Thanks for the follow.
