Yayoi Kusama (b. 1929, Japan) is an artist known for her large scale installations. Two installations from her series Infinity Mirror Rooms are currently on display at Tate Modern, and they use light and mirrors to create an illusion of infinite space.
These shots are from Infinity Mirrored Room – Filled with the Brilliance of Life 2011. I walked along a mirrored walkway as tiny bulbs of lights went on and off and changed colour. They were reflected in mirrors and shallow water to create a sense of endless space, and it was captivating (as well as a bit scary when the lights went off!)
