As the theme is eggs and it's Easter, I thought I might as well show some of my artwork.
On the left is a 'Phoenix' egg (I was thinking of HP and Fawkes at the time) Top right is based upon Pixar's 'UP', and on the back it says, "Ellie & Karl' and "Spirit of adventure' and bottom right is a 'Stargazing' egg with some sort of planetry atmosphere in the background. All are painted with acrylics on chicken-sized maple eggs, then varnished over several times.
A bit of trivia. Incidentally, the leopard on the bookshelf is the same one seen here - http://365project.org/sabresun/365/2011-03-05 Oh, and I love otters, as seen by the little wooden carving alongside it. I think this may be because I saw 'Ring of bright water' as a kid and I've never forgotten the charm of that film. Just thought I'd mention that for no reason in particular, apart from the dream that it'd be fascinating to take some photos of them in the wild one day.
Matt, I enjoyed checking out your site. You are definitely quite talented. I really like all the detail. You did a fantastic job with all of them. And by the way, I also enjoyed reading Bekki's poem.
What a lot of work and detail you put into these little egg-shaped canvasses! I enjoyed seeing your video of the one with the Phoenix. And I think my favorite is the balloon house from "Up" (though I haven't seen the movie). (Love your little otter carving, too! I agree that they're captivating little animals!)
Well, ditto to all the previous comments! I love artwork on surfaces that aren't flat! Such tiny and intricate detail must be neck and shoulder-cramping work!!
