Snowy owl (wood creature) by sabresun

Snowy owl (wood creature)

"It's just the sort of place," he explained, "for an ambush."

"What sort of bush?" whispered Pooh to Piglet. "A gorse-bush?"

"My dear Pooh," said Owl in his superior way, "don't you know what an ambush is?"

"Owl," said Piglet, looking round at him severely, "Pooh's whisper was a perfectly
private whisper, and there was no need..."

"An ambush," said Owl, "is a sort of surprise."

"So is a gorse-bush sometimes," said Pooh.

Absolutely perfect portrait of an owl! You are amazing at finding these tree creatures. I love the Pooh story that went with it, also.

@melissachi @scooter @digitalrn The main thing is to look for the very old trees. Ones that are twisted, gnarled, knobbled into odd shapes by insects, with holes where the branches have either fallen out or split. Ones with weird growths that only standing up to the elements can produce, funnily enough that sounds like a few humans I know. You then have a pretty good chance of seeing something, and once you've spotted one, usually others come to view more easily when you get the 'eye' for it.
