A bit of a strange one this. The length of the tree trunk was covered in dormant bees. I've cropped it closer to show them more clearly. When I first saw them, initially, I thought they were large flies. Either it must be a good sunbathing spot or there's something within the bark the bees are attracted to. Who knows. This may be a common sight (I'm not sure), but I've not seen it before now. I thought it might bee of some interest. :)
Just did a bit of Googling, and the only thing mentioned about dormant bees usually happens when it's cold. Maybe the hive moved out quickly before these guys got back, and now they're just lost? Not sure, either.
