Sam the (wood) Eagle

Firstly, is that the head of an eagle in the middle of this strange tree
and secondly, does it also bear a passing resemblance to 'Sam the Eagle' from The Muppets?

This made me laugh when I pulled up the muppet image! I definitely see the eagle, and also another animal to the right peering it's head around the tree that Sam sits.

I'm fairly certain that's a racoon in the middle just above Sam's back - it's got its head pushed up against the trunk.
