Under the bridge

One of the many old, stone canal bridges around here. I like how the man made and the natural elements blend to the point where there's little distinction between them.

Lovely prose & quite true there is nothing like a carpet of fresh grass !! Love the ivy & the light on the trees !

This one has some age to it. Any idea how old it is?

@digitalrn Rick, it was built in 1836. It has you could say, coming up to two hundred years under its belt.

@richardshears It makes you wonder how few a group of people still manage to keep those skills alive today. I mean as far as master stone masons and such.
