Wisdom of the woods

This tree looks like it has seen it all, and probably has too,
and contemplated it all in its own steadfast, rooted way.

I think it has something of a wise, thoughtful eye rather like a whale's.

It's funny, but as you scroll down the pages you can almost always identify the photographer before you see the name. This has Matt written all over it.

I like this. A lot. The composition's very pleasing and the getting-on-for-an-engraving look is as well and I love all the tension between the two trees and those writhing branches. Fav.

I can see a mouth, a flattened nose and an eye on this trunk, Matt - but perhaps its my imagination. Beautiful shot. Looks perfect in b&w. The tree in the background looks so big and majestic.

@sangwann I think your imagination is they key thing to seeing this photo as I'd hoped. There are some wonderful trees around here.
