The mountains have been burning since Saturday. One of the wosrt fires in the region for many, many years! Thankfully no homes have been lost, some farms have tragically lost livestock and of course grazing lands and crops have also been lost.
It hasn't been an easy task for the firefighters as the temperature away from the fires has been over 40°C. There has also been strong winds fanning the fire. Hopefully it will soon be contained and thus under control.
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.
Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
That is an awful lot of smoke. Hope they have it out soon. Only a devoted photo enthusiast would make sure they got their shot in under the circumstances. Nice job. Stay safe.
I like the layers in this shot, the angle of the mountain and the clump of trees that are silhouetted by the smoke. This took some setting up and is just great!
@kloud Bon I must admit that this was taken whilst I was walking home. I just pointed camera in the vague direction and let auto do the rest! Thanks for the wonderful feedback though :-)
