Hand of Hands

My get pushed challenge from Sandy Wilson was 'hands, either my own or those of someone else'

Also tagging for the technique challenge - Double/Multiple Exposures

Well done, I've seen this before, but all the hands were the same. I like your twist on it. :)

@jocasta Not that I know of. Guess I could have checked out some sign language. You've given me some food for thought! Thanks for the fav.

Oh wow! This is fantastic!! Strangely enough, yesterday driving back from Bellville having returned the Freeman Patterson book to the library, there was a little girl in the bakkie in front of me, and we did exactly this to each other! :)

Nice concept!

@shepherdmanswife it is more time consuming than difficult. It is done using layers and layer masks.

@kwiksilver did your copy of the book arrive?
September 5th, 2013
Fantastic shot(s) and processing! Such creativity and vision! Great job on your challenge Sally!

@salza Yes, I received my copy less than ten days after ordering it. Have to say I am very impressed with Amazon's service! And I see what you mean about the photographs being so very different. They are absolutely incredible in the 2011 edition.

Amazing and slightly disconcerting at the same time, very clever shot Sally.

I look at this shot and think, "Wow- awesome processing" and then, "A bit creepy, but awesome processing!" Then I was trying to figure out if it spelled something in sign language- my brain!! You met this challenge and then some!! Great job.

@tigerdreamer During August there was a Book Club (for want of a better description!). It used Freeman Patterson's book Photography and the Art of Seeing. A really good book and well worth getting hold of a copy! You can check out the discussion here, this has links to the previous discussions - http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/19042/aug-book-club-week-4

@olivetreeann I hadn't given any thought as to it having any meaning but it is a great idea for a future attempt! This did not work quite as I had pictured in my mind, so I do want to revisit it at some point!
September 6th, 2013
like ann @olivetreeann i was trying to figure out in my head if you were doing sign language. this is a brilliant concept. well, the pusher asked for hands, eh, so hands he/she gets. awesome, sally. sometimes when i'm bored i look at your album and see what i can do next. but most times what you come up with is not possible for me to do so i just live my life vicariously through you. :-)
September 6th, 2013
@summerfield thanks for those kind words. I'm sure you can do anything you put your mind to! I must admit I find a lot of inspiration when I look through your albums! :-)
