My Get Pushed challenge from Kali @kali66 I challenge you to photograph CHROME.
I thought this should have been an easy challenge, needless to say I was wrong! I will have to have another go at this!
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.
Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
well done, I like the depth of field. I presume you have changed this to black and white , I noticed in tutorials on cutlery photography that they used a tent to diffuse the reflections to give this mono result, I was thinking cars when I thought of it though lol
@kali66 I have desaturated it as opposed to just converting. I was also thinking cars but to find one in a farming community that is all spick and span can be quite difficult! Plus it means a trip away from home and that's where my work is based! Maybe on the weekend I can find something
I first thought of cars when I saw chrome but also think this is a good start if you have to stay close to home. Kitchen appliances, tea pots and sometimes faucets also give off the appearance of chrome (even though most of them are made with stainless steel). Good start and good shot.
This is a really effective shot Sally. Like your composition and use of dof too. Still can't quite get up the courage to do a challenge myself, maybe once I reach half way!
@paulaw They are really not so bad. Easiest is to start by doing the weekly theme. Plus if you do the get pushed challenge and someone asks you to do something you are not happy with you just tell them and they can issue a new one! The first step is always the hardest.
