@kwiksilver Thank you Gillian. I remember reading an article about the importance of getting the eye in focus when taking a portrait. I have tried to apply all the same tricks to when I take pics of animals and birds. I'll try to find the article and send you the link.

Great observation and great picture...glad you had some light on the eye! We had two sightings of immature Bateleurs which I initially mistook for Brown Snake Eagles, but the yellow eye is unmistakeable!
