Zipslide by salza

Zipslide

For my get pushed challenge from Francoise @francoise - how about a black and white landscape ... with human element (or actual human)?

Went on a zip slide today! This is one of our guides getting ready to go on the first slide. For more information about the zip slide adventure check out this website: http://www.ceresadventures.co.za/index.php

Interesting textures in the foreground contrasted against the sot, misty background. Lovely b&w.

that looks really exciting - cool idea

Awesome shot---feel the energy !

Works well as a b&w

Wonderful

Great shot and good for you. Not sure if I could do this or not.

Beautiful, where is this?
August 12th, 2014
yay! you nailed it! the textures are a lot interesting with the black and white. b&w certainly is growing on me.

Great shot! This b/w is so crisp it gives you the sense of how long and how high that is! They are fun, although the one time I did something similar I was alternating between laughing, and screaming and closing my eyes! I am not good with heights although I will sometimes try to push past the fear if I think it's worth it! GREAT shot!!

nice textures, processing and focus

Super shot and sounds great fun too.

Great shot...very good POV and composition.
Is this zipline in the Cedarberg Mountains?
August 13th, 2014
I love both of these shots, this one especially (though it sort of adds to the anticipation of drama that the line looks like it will take its rider straight into those jaged rocks). The little sgtreak of white cloud is a bonus!

@leananiemand Leana, it is in Ceres, at the bottom of Mitchells Pass (Ceres side)

@ericdibosco Eric, it's not in the Cedarberg, it is in Ceres. The rock formations though are very similar to the Cedarberg

@francoise lol, you do feel as though you are going straight into the rocks! The landing zone is in a shadow so quite difficult to see in the b&w conversion. In the colour capture you can see it as the colour of the padding stands out!

Oh wow! I still want to do one of these (especially since I couldn't do the Tsitsikamma one back in October last year). Fantastic detail of the rocks. And works really well in b&w.
August 13th, 2014
@kwiksilver I found this one to be less scary than the canopy tour in Tsitsikamma. At least here when you step off the platform there is something below your feet. You are not just stepping into an abyss!

AND it's closer ;) Thanks, Sally!
