Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
Sally, comparing this photo and the one before, you can clearly see a difference. Both have great focus. But I would say the other photo of Pixie holds more interest for me. It's brighter over all, and the background is interesting but muted. Green isn't a bad background necessarily. BUT, the white balance changes between the shots. The full sun photo, perfect white balance. But the shade photo appears a little blue to me. A flash, or shady or cloudy white balance may correct that? Hope you don't mind me commenting.
@adambralston Adam, not at all. For both picture all I have done in post processing is crop them slightly. I was sitting in the shade with Skye lying close by whilst Pixie was in the full sun (face facing the sun). Tomorrow i may well play around with the white balance on this picture. I had the camera set on auto white balance as half of the garden was in sun and the other half in shade. I do always appreciate any critique and suggestions. It's one of the best ways to learn and improve!
@salza Amen Sally. I feel the same. When you change the white balance it will probably look a little orange at first on that one. And it might just be that the light WAS actually blue.
I always laugh when I read about overexposing snow to make it white for example. Anyone who sees snow often knows that snow has all kinds of shades to it .. pink, orange, blue, sparkly, grey, white.....
