We took a long leisurely drive around the coast. In th vacinity of Rooi Els there are quite a number of these stone crosses. They are in memory of people who have been washed off the rocks whilst fishing, may of them by rogue waves.
My get pushed challenge from Megan @ludgate - This week, I challenge you to pick one aperture to shoot with for an entire day (or the whole week, if you want!). The aperture level is up to you.
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.
Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
@kwiksilver I did think about you! The drive was very spur of the moment. We decided on Friday morning to go to Triggerfish and try out their pulled pork. Left Tulbagh around 8:30, went via Worcester to Villiersdorp then to Grabouw, Kleinmond and along the coast road. It took us forever as there was so much traffic. Sadly Triggerfish didn't have any pulled pork on the menu and we didn't fancy burgers! I didn't take any photos there at all. There were one or two spots that I thought might be good photo ops but the lad wasn't overly enthusiastic about me traipsing around there. We are thinking of going to the Cheetah conservation place sometime soon.
@salza Oh no! I hope that doesn't mean they've taken the pulled pork off their menu! I can well believe how much traffic there was! Tweede Nuwe Jaar is probably not the best day for a drive ;) If you decide to come to the Cheetah Outreach place please let me know. I'd love to join you. I hope you saw the Crouching Angel statue? I absolutely love it but haven't yet managed to get a decent shot of it. Maybe this weekend.
I always marvel at these stones along the way, I am sure they happen else where too, but somehow one finds them more here than elsewhere.
