Wonderful lines! I so enjoyed your response to the last challenge we did together. This time around I thought I would challenge you to do an abstract. If this doesn't appeal to you, just let me know and I'll come up with something else.

@aecasey Abstract is good. It's been a while since I last did one.

Lovely shot ..... would make a fabulous quill! :)

I'm interested to see your choice of focus. I would have gone further into the feather itself, but this shows just how much I'm missing.

The patterns on those birds are so interesting. Great macro!

@salza I had originally thought of your dogs and panning, but I saw you have tried panning on several occasions. Then I thought "minimalism" ... and I saw you'd tried that challenge too. I do hope you can have some fun with abstracts.

Difficult subject: where to focus? Have you ever done focus stacking? It is a very cumbersome process, but a wonderful way to get a deeper DOF in macro and close-up photography (even works for landscapes where you need sharp focus on detail in the near foreground). I haven't done it in ages though! ( http://365project.org/ericdibosco/365/2013-11-14 - a little artefact has crept in with the focus in the middle of the feather)

@ericdibosco I haven't as yet tried focus stacking. I have watched a tutorial and have bookmarked some other info. I really should have a go at it, just need to get the tripod out and dust it off!
