Tulbagh Market by salza

Tulbagh Market

For my get pushed challenge from Stephanie @stephanies - how about creating a 6-photo collage that tells a story?

There is a monthly market held on one of the farms in the valley. Normally it is a hive of activity this afternoon it was so quiet!

@maggiemae koek is Afrikaans for cake or bake. The sign was for 'roosterkoek' which are bread rolls that are cooked over hot coals. Delicious with butter and cheese, apricot jam is also commonly added with the butter and cheese.

@summerfield Vikki, I don't know if I will ever be comfortable taking candid or street shots, but thanks for the kind words my friend.

It must have been quiet -- all that beer, and a shortage of paying customers. Not like any South Africans I know.

FWIW, the I think collage works; it's a good thing.

@scotthouston there were paying customers standing around close by, I just like the interaction between the brew master and one of the other stall holders! It was also around 37 degrees C, so cold beer on tap was in demand!
