I had no idea what wild flower this is. Jackie ( @30pics4jackiesdiamond ) I believe has correctly identified it as a Lupin. I like how the petals appear to be painted.
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.
Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
It is lupine. We get those as wild flowers here in Northern California. There are many varieties, but if the leaves fan out from a middle point like that they are probably lupine. They can come in white, pink, yellow and purple also.
We are get-pushed partners again Sally. How would you feel about doing a triptych of your beautiful flowers in one of two ways: 1. Same plant from 3 different points of view or 2. Same plant at 3 different times of day - golden hour, middday, and blue hour.
Yep, a lupin, grown as a commercial crop in parts of the world, including Australia. They grow wild in NZ and when they're flowering people flock there to see the gorgeous sight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupinus
