My push challenge this week from Lesley Chisholm (@kiwichick) is to try some candid portraits. "I hope you'll enjoy this push and find some good subjects to practice on. And I hope it will help you feel a bit more comfortable photographing people too."
Not a true candid shot but it is human!

Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
These are great Sally. Good effort. Do you shoot on manual mode or automatic? I would lower your aperture here and speed up your shutter speed. Or set the camera to aperture priority to get a clearer image (using a wider open aperture 4 or 4.5). I have one to post for you too. Will post soon.
@kiwichick I was in aperture priority but the lighting in the room is all over the place with flurecent lights and strong sunlight coming through the windows. Tried different white balance as well but really struggled to get something that I liked. Will try to get some more shots on the weekend!
i think this qualifies as candid. i like the blurry motion of her hand and her stick. you captured enough of the face and what she's all about which is her art. you could've probably post-process it a bit to correct the lighting problem. (look at me giving advice like i know anything about photography! :-D)
