Witzenberg Mountains

November word list - landmark
This mountain range runs the length of the Tulbagh valley. The pale area at the top of the mountain is the scare from a large rock fall that occured in December 2011

this is a wonderful perspective; both shows a good sense of how far that road has to go to reach the bottom of the mountains and yet it also gives a false sense that at that end of that curve you're there instantly. the mountains look like elephants walking away.

@summerfield How interesting you say elephants as we refer to the mountains as "the elephants"!

@salza - to me it can be viewed in two different perspective. one, they resemble the back of elephants' heads that's why i said they're walking away. two, they also look like elephants' heads with their trunks facing this way as if in synchronized motion.
