Heading off on the horse trail around the foot hills of the Witzenberg Mountains. You can still see small smatterings of snow on the peaks but it is melting quickly.

@maryb Mary those mountains are right there. The horse trail starts at the base of the mountain. We can only ride up a little way as it get very rough quite quickly. There are so many gullies that are just not safe for the horses to traverse. If you look at the last rider's hat and move to the right, you notice the brighter green field that becomes a grey green as the slope steepens, well that's about as high as we can go, takes about 10 minutes for the horses to walk straight there.
@salza Thank you for the explanation. I did notice the color changes, which made me think that the photo encompassed a much greater expanse than it does.
