There was a large fire in on of the mountainous areas where I live today. It was burning in a gorge - Mitchell's Pass that has minimal access but does have a road passing through it. The road bisects the Witzenberg mountains. The helicopters where called in to water bomb the flames to get the fire under control.
I'm from Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa. Tulbagh is a small farming community.

Great opportunistic capture. Such a beautiful pass...can't remember when last I drove through it...it's about time! Lots of damage, or did they manage to control the fire?
@ericdibosco Eric it burnt the whole of the mountain opposite the road, no buildings were threatened but so much vegetation has been destroyed. The fire was still smoldering late this afternoon (been burning now for over 36 hours!) It is under control and hopefully with the cooler weather and possibility of some rain overnight by tomorrow it will have exhausted itself!
