Cow by salza

Cow

We were visited by a herd of 4 cows today. They came to graze on the open plot in front of our house.

...and gave you a chance to play with your long lens! What is the quality like towards it's 300mm limit?

@ericdibosco at times my focus isn't what I'd like. The lens has a distance gauge meter thingy which I think affects focal point. The range is from 0.3m to infinity. At present I think any issues are me related rather than lens related! :-)

Are they like wild cows or something?

@susale they are not wild cows, they normally graze open land nearby. These 4 must have just wandered away from the herd. I hope they didn't damage any gardens whilst they were on their walk about

Great shot! I'd be worried about the gardens too, they're so big, they could do some real damage.

What breed are these cows? They look somewhat like the Indian breed which has very nutritious milk free of drugs.

Fantastic shot, his coat seems to be shining.

Cows will be cows, wandering where they please :) Nice that they came to give you a great photo opp!

@veengupta I'm not sure what breed they are but they do look like Jerseys. As far as I know they belong to people living in the squatter camp or low cost housing and they normally graze on open municipal ground nearby.
