Rainbow Lorikeet by salza

Rainbow Lorikeet

Visited Butterfly World today. They have many exotic birds and reptiles that people had as pets and they no longer wanted. They are now living happily in the right conditions. Many of the birds have to be kept in large aviaries as they would not survive in the wild.

Fabulous rainbow lorikeet. I don't like to see caged birds, so hope they are free to roam. We get so many of these visiting our garden.

@onewing Babs, thanks for identifying the bird. This bird is in a large aviary. Unfortunately people get birds as pets and then no longer want it. Since they are not native to our country they don't survive in the wild.

@leonbuys83 Leon, it is a rainbow lorikeet - a parrot native to Australia.
