Santas Whiskers by samae

Santas Whiskers

Oh if only I could tell you how good these are. I make these every year without fail. Funny thing is....I always thought they were a recipe from my childhood. My mom and sisters don't think so. So I have no idea where I got this recipe...but for years I've been making them.
They look delicious, you will have to share the recipe with us all.

@onewing @seattlite @amyk @joysabin @ludwigsdiana Here you go:
1c. Butter
1c. Sugar
2 T milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-1/2 c flour
3/4 c finely chopped red &green candied cherries
1/2c finely chopped pecans
3/4 c flaked coconut

In large bowl, beat butter w/ mixer until softened. Add sugar -beat till fluffy. Add milk & vanilla- beat well

Add flour and beat until well mixed. Stir in cherries& pecans. Divide dough into thirds. Shape each portion into 7” log roll. Roll each in 1/4c of coconut to coat. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill several hours or overnight.

Cut into 1/4” slices. Place in ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375* ( or 350* convection) for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

Hope you enjoy! Merry Christmas
