Our local grocery store always has hatch peppers for sale in September. This year they did it a little differently. You could order for pick up. I ordered 1/2 crate not knowing really what that meant ! In the past they have been in little bags and you would roast yourself.
I picked them up and box wouldn’t even fit in my trunk. I soon realized that they were already roasted and warm. So that meant I spent the entire afternoon standing in the kitchen scraping the charred skin and and de- seeding. Once they are roasted they can spoil quickly. I froze many of them that processed and still have more to do tomorrow. Will be ok in refrigerator for a few days.

Having family over for Labor Day so they should expect some hatch on that burger.
