My grandmother did not teach me how to knit. In fact, until my mother and I opened a yarn shop several years ago, she had not even learned to knit. But now, she's a Knitter. She'll tell you that she's not, that her hands are clumsy and that she doesn't knit well, but she cranks out baby hats and big kid hats and cozy scarves and shawls like nobody's business.
I love to watch her knit. And even though she hates her hands, I think they are beautiful - especially when she's knitting.
Alphabet February: K is for Knitting!
Also: I cheated a bit. I took this last night because I knew I wouldn't see my grandma today. :)
I pick up knitting every fall and abandon it every spring, i will definitely be the grandma who makes hats, scarves, and nothing else. This is a great shot :)
@dianachaplin Thank you! For me, knitting is a year-round thing - only partly because it's also my job - but it is hard to knit when the weather is nice!
@hinaansari Thanks! I really wanted to get a shot that showed all of her, but I got the "glare of doom" when I tried to take pictures that included her face. I need a less obvious camera... :)
