Was on a quick business trip in Atlanta today and had to visit this infamous bridge overlook of the city after scoping it out on Google. Unfortunately, I only had about 15 minutes in the harshest light of the day. Sometime I'd like to return at night with the tripod.
@cejaanderson Thank you for tagging me Jane, I do miss this view!
Interesting processing Scott, definitely a classic view. When I took my night shot the closest street lamp was non-functional; rumor is that photographers regularly "shoot out" those street lamps to get a better photo. You can probably get your night long exposure shot without a tripod, I was also in town on business and didn't have my tripod...I just set the camera on the stone railing of the bridge. If you do get a night shot, please tag me!: https://www.flickr.com/photos/113583274@N05/16310239615/in/photostream/lightbox/
I was looking for the bridge then suddenly realised you must be standing on it! A really rich colour in that road....looks like it's made of sand ....your roads are amazingly quiet, it must be a pleasure driving!
@dbj Thanks for the note and awesome shot! I was originally going to stay Sunday night but plans changed. I may never get back there but would drool at the chance to hang out during the evening golden hour and into the night.
ditto on Barbara's comment ... there's a (Georgia red clay) dirt road feel to the textures of the interstate. That and the minimal cars gives this classic shot a very different feel than common.
This is a wonderful shot, but I can totally see why you would want to come back and shoot this at night with all the buildings aglow, and the light trails from the traffic down below!
