I saw this gent at the Potjiekos competition tomorrow afternoon, and asked if I could take a photo. He wanted to know why, so I just said he has a face that is full of character. It shows a life well lived. He seemed to be really pleased and said I could take as many photos as I wanted and told me his name was Loki, even spelling it out for me.

I still get a little knot in my stomach when I know I want to ask someone if I can take photos of them. But I'm getting so much better at it now. I think what is helping me is the discovery that some people, like Loki, actually seem to feel quite honoured that I want to take photos of them
