Our overnight at the nature reserve included lunch, dinner, and breakfast as well as a late afternoon game drive and an early morning game drive. Two of the rhino have recently had calves. This little calf is about 6 weeks old. Like the rest of the Western Cape, they are in the grip of a serious drought and water holes reduced to muddy puddles have to be topped up with water brought in. They are also buying in supplemental food as there isn't sufficient vegetation at the moment to support the animals.
