Drought

@islambad suggested I should share some photos that show the impact of the drought. I decided that although I haven't been taking photos of the scenery because it doesn't appeal to me, I should do so even if just to document this with the hope that winter will bring our normal rains and this will be nothing more than a memory. There is little to no grazing for the livestock, so farmers are having to buy in supplemental feed, and are slaughtering to reduce the head of sheep/cattle to feed and water. A farmer was telling me that some farmers are not feeding sufficiently and weakened sheep are attacked by crows who eat their eyes out while they are still alive. That breaks my heart to even think about it so I will put it out of my mind now.
Oh my it looks very bleak. Those poor sheep!!!

@beckyk365 @islambad Thank you for comments. It is indeed bleak and barren. I know this is a dry part of the country, but I have never before seen it looking quite like this .... the grasses and shrubs used to hold the sandy soil together, but now there is nothing, and sand is just blowing everywhere.
