Karen and I went walking near our hotel after our Bainskloof Pass drive, and I went to a farmhouse and asked if they would mind if we walked through his farmland to find the river. This Great Dane attached himself to me immediately and came walking with us, together with two other farm dogs including a tiny little sausage dog whose back legs kept collapsing and he would drag himself along with his front legs - but he tried his best to keep up. Sausage dog disappeared from sight at one time, and we heard yelps. He had got himself stuck in a pile of enormous logs of huge pine trees. I had to rescue him without the pile collapsing on him or me, and then carried the little fella home. I had nightmares about it that night. I shouldn't be so attached to animals, should I!
@anniesue Thank you. Yes, the little sausage dog certainly did display determination. It upset me so to watch him drag himself along, but yet he wasn't going to be left behind. I never even discovered the names of any of the dogs! They just wanted human company as they roamed their farmland, and galloped along with us the whole time.
